A woman called Tracy Chapman from Stratford bought be some flowers on our first date. Caroline Austin made a painting of them. I wrote some letters and this song. Same old story really.....

From a poem about Joanne, who used to go around in a green jacket. I wrote poems and songs about her (as you do!) but I don't think I ever spoke to her. Geof hated this one and I can see why now. You can hear Ian Cusack on this one.

John Peel sent us our demo tape back with a handwritten note - 'thanks but stuff is derivative.' We had no idea what he meant. In our sadness at being rejected we jammed this tune.
